Living Legends of Alexandria Gains Non-Profit Status



Artist-Photographer Nina Tisara has incorporated Living Legends of Alexandria as a non-profit organization based in Alexandria, VA.

Living Legends of Alexandria started as a photo-documentary project recognizing people who are making history in Alexandria, and will seek 501(c)(3) status. Living Legends is the recipient of a 2008 grant from the Alexandria Commission for the Arts. Evelyn Brooks Promotes Socially Responsible Art and Fights Poverty


Peruvian jewelry designer Evelyn Brooks was selected as the spokes model for this year's Fashion Fights Poverty "Dress Responsibly" campaign; her face graces the posters publicizing this year’s event. Set Designer Mariana Fernandez Joins the Baltimore School for the Arts

Artists and Set Designer, Mariana Fernandez accepted a teaching position in set design at the Baltimore School for The Arts. This year she has completed a series of set design commissions including: "THE SOUND OF MUSIC", Millsaps College, Jackson, Mississippi, "Made in Argentina", Inter-American Development Bank, Washington, DC, "Agustin Lara, Boleros and Blues", GALA Hispanic Theater, Washington, DC.
